Brian McDonough, MD has joined CaseNetwork as Chief Academic Officer to oversee clinical content development and assist the company in expanding its education portfolio. He brings to CaseNetwork his expertise in clinical innovation and technology and their impact on medical education and patient care.
Dr. McDonough is widely recognized both on the local and national level. In his hometown of Philadelphia, he is known as “Philadelphia’s Family Physician” due to his daily appearance on KYWNewsradio and his continued practice of family medicine. In addition to KYWNewsradio, Dr. McDonough is syndicated on more than 100 radio stations throughout the United States. He has been awarded four Emmy awards associated with his career at Fox Television and has recently created and hosted “Primary Care Today” on Iheart radio aimed at the physician based listening audience.
His academic appointments include the Chairmanship of the Department of Family Medicine and Chief Medical Information Officer at St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington, DE, as well as Clinical Professor of Family Medicine and Community Health at Temple University School of Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and The College of Physicians of Philadelphia and has earned both the IT Leadership Certificate and the degree of Certified Physician Executive from the American College of Physician Executives.
Dr. McDonough speaks on a national level on the use of social media in healthcare, electronic medical records and patient portals and access.
