Jeffrey Levy, MD
Founder and CEO
Dr. Jeffrey Levy is a physician, educator, entrepreneur, inventor and an internationally recognized expert in e-Learning. He is the Founder and CEO of CaseNetwork, a medical education company that provides the highest quality case-based medical education coupled with social media and delivered conveniently on mobile devices. Prior to this, Dr. Levy was Co-founder, CEO, and Chief Educational Officer of MedCases, an online medical education company providing continuing education through a case-based approach to physicians across the world. Dr. Levy has been in the forefront of innovations in medical education for over 2 decades. His accomplishments include developing over 600 interactive case presentations, the first five CD-ROMs/DVDs in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology, some of the most sophisticated 3-D medical/surgical animations, the first i-phone simulated patient encounter, one of the world’s first virtual reality surgical simulators and a variety of other online physician and patient educational tools. Through his award winning programs, Dr. Levy has educated over 400,000 physicians.
Dr. Levy has also served as the Medical Director of Education and Technology Initiatives for the University of Pennsylvania Health System where his responsibilities included development of computerized physician and patient education systems. His other academic roles have included Associate Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Director of Resident Education and Medical Student Education at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia.
Dr. Levy has presented over 100 national and international lectures, has authored numerous abstracts and scientific papers and has developed several patents and inventions. He received his M.D. degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia Medical School and completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. He had a clinical practice in Obstetrics and Gynecology for fourteen years.
Brian McDonough, MD, FAAFP
Chief Medical Officer
Brian McDonough, MD has been called “Philadelphia’s Family Physician” in large part due to his daily presence as Medical Editor on KYWNewsradio since 1988. Dr. McDonough is Clinical Professor of Family Medicine and Community Health at Temple University School of Medicine as well as Chairman of The Department of Family Medicine at St. Francis Hospital. He maintains an active practice and serves on the hospital’s Board of Directors.
In addition to his role at KYWNewsradio, Dr. McDonough is syndicated on more than one hundred radio stations throughout the United States including 1010WINS in New York City. He has earned four Emmy Awards during a twenty year career at Fox television. Recently, Dr. McDonough created and has hosted the program Primary Care Today for Iheart Radio. This program is designed for a physician based listening audience.
Dr. McDonough is also seen as a national leader in the area of Clinical Innovation and Technology and is sought out as a national speaker in areas related to the use of patient portals, social media and the use of electronic medical records to impact health care. He has served as Chief Medical Information Officer for his organization.
Brian McDonough, MD has received numerous awards including: Family Physician of The Year, National Medical Broadcaster of The Year, The Sir William Osler Award for Bedside Teaching, and is an inductee in The Broadcast Pioneers Hall of Fame. He is a Fellow of The American Academy of Family Physicians and The College of Physicians of Philadelphia and has earned both The Health IT Leadership Certificate and the degree of Certified Physician Executive from The American College of Physician Executives.
Melissa Ashton Young
Director of Content Development
Melissa has extensive experience in elearning, medical education, project direction, content and technology management, sales support and client services. Her expertise lies in managing project teams and facilitating a project from planning, to execution, and finally, to successful completion—all while maintaining the project vision and managing relationships and communication with stakeholders.
Melissa has specialized in the field of elearning for over 20 years. She worked as the East Coast Regional Director for Multimedia Learning, specializing in training programs for companies such as Coopers and Lybrand and AAA. At Medical Broadcasting Company, she began as a Project Director and soon was promoted to the Director of Creative Services, managing a large creative team specializing in marketing and digital strategies for health-related products for brands like Claritin and Tylenol. After that, Melissa worked as a Senior Project Manager with Dr. Levy, Co-founder, CEO, and Chief Educational Officer of MedCases, an online medical education company providing continuing education through a case-based approach. Melissa specialized in overseeing projects from proposal to initiation, planning, execution, delivery and finally, providing ongoing support to clients.
Her role at CaseNetwork as Director of Content Development utilizes her skill sets and experience, including supporting sales and marketing efforts, hands on management of technical aspects of projects, content planning and execution, management of financial aspects of projects, implementation and support, and direct communication with the CEO on all aspects of project development for CaseNetwork.
Melissa has a Master of Education from Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia, a Master of Science in Instructional Technology from Philadelphia University, and Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Marketing from Philadelphia University.
Louis Neipris, MD
Senior Medical Writer
Drawing upon broad subject matter expertise and accomplished authorship skills, Dr. Louis Neipris develops content for cross-curriculum projects. He also works with outside experts to ensure clinical accuracy.
During residency, Dr. Neipris developed the role of informational liaison, and published his training program’s first intranet laboratory newsletter, a well-received resource for teaching hospital staff about diagnostic tests. This endeavor launched his career in medical communications.
He has since built a diverse portfolio, including hundreds of online articles and learning tools for patients and health professionals. His cross-industry skill sets include curriculum development and writing needs assessments in continuing medical education (CME), pharmaceutical marketing and clinical trials promotion.
Dr. Neipris obtained his M.D. from SUNY Health Science Center Brooklyn, and has a BA in English from Columbia University. In addition to completing his pathology residency at the Mallory Institute, Boston Medical Center, he has clinical training at Mount Auburn Hospital of Harvard Medical School.
Vice President of Sales
Kami Jacobsen is an experienced program leader with broad business experience encompassing sales, marketing, and operations. Her career has spanned large Fortune 500 companies and early-stage start-ups in the medical device arena where she has directed and managed teams to successful outcomes. Her most recent emphasis has been in commercializing products and managing expansion initiatives to increase sales, specifically for companies focused on the early detection and treatment of breast cancer.
Kami spent the past 10 years in a variety of roles calling on radiologists, radiation oncologists and breast surgeons in hospitals and freestanding clinics. Her expertise also includes marketing, launching new products, and creating case studies. In addition, she has managed 2 clinical patient registries, supporting physicians in publishing scientific abstracts and articles.
Kami received her Master in Business Administration from Pepperdine University in California and graduated with a BA from Brigham Young University.
Senior Account Executive, Sales
Kristen (Krissy) McCracken, is a highly accomplished sales and marketing professional with 20 years’ experience in technical sales. She is considered a “turnaround expert” who is able to take underperforming markets and help them quickly rebound. Krissy has considerably grown business in all regions for which she has been responsible by establishing strong professional relationships and meeting clients’ needs over the lifetime of a product or service.
Krissy received his BA Degree in Speech Communications from Bloomsburg University in 1995. It was there that she developed her passion for relationships through client centered services, with a focus on sales and marketing. After graduation, she rapidly climbed through the ranks of her initial professional position.
Account Executive, Sales
Cindy is a highly-effective sales executive with 20+ years’ experience in technology environments. She excels at generating and maximizing revenue, and is skilled in managing complex sales cycles within healthcare organizations. Cindy’s unique and wide-ranging skill set has enabled her to successfully contribute in a variety of sales roles, including business development, account management and inside sales. She works collaboratively with clients to achieve a common goal and has a unique ability to customize her approach to the different needs and styles of her customers.
In addition to her professional achievements, Cindy is active in her community, supporting Meals-on-Wheels projects for home-bound seniors. She works with schools, youth groups, and other volunteer organizations to create hundreds of cards for local seniors.
Cindy graduated with a BA from Rowan University and is a lifelong learner. Additional training includes Sandler Sales Methodology, Wilson Learning Counselor Selling, Bay Group Sales Negotiations, and Dale Carnegie professional development.
